It’s been a week since I started the Runner’s World Run Streak. That was the same day that I started the Daily Burn inferno program. Well, I have good and bad news. I’ll start with the running. My streak is in full effect since Thanksgiving.
After my personal Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving, I’ve run approximately 17.5 miles. That’s not much, but it’s at least a mile a day! The truth is that I hate running in the cold weather. I tend to lose all desire to run when it is cold outside. Luckily this challenge has gotten me on treadmill and outside when possible. Only once so far have I had to squeeze in a mile at the end of the night. In case you missed any of my updates on Twitter and Instagram, here’s my week in running and some photos to prove it.

The other half was the strength training. I am disappointed to say that I completed only 3 days of the Inferno program to date. It is a great program, but it is not easy. I wonder if the run streak and the 21 day program were more than I should have taken on simultaneously and during the holidays. So I am thinking about a new approach back into strength training. I am going to go back to my Jillian Michaels Shred videos. These workouts helped me get back into the groove after I gave birth to Mini Me. I plan to do a video at least 3 days a weeks through December. In January, I will revisit Anya’s killer work outs in Daily Burn’s Inferno. For now, I can use Daily Burn for yoga and other workouts I might want to try.
In other life news, my son’s 8th birthday is today. Sometimes it feels like yesterday and sometimes a lifetime. Regardless I cannot imagine my life without him. He made me a mother and showed me how much you can truly love another person. We are heading to dinner to celebrate this evening… after I get my mile in.
